The course will cover the introduction to main methods of research appropriate
to landscape management, protection and preservation, as well as to landscape architecture.
The course includes:
review of qualitative techniques (focus groups, interviews);
analysis of qualitative results;
textual analysis;
archive research;
quantitative research (map analysis using GIS, questionnaire surveys);
statistical techniques used in both natural and social science;
literature review sources and techniques;
formulation of research questions;
structuring research outputs (reports, papers, theses);
referencing.
