Monitoring is critical to the assessment of environmental hazards. The course will cover basics of environmental monitoring definitions and processes, compares monitoring with research and describes place of monitoring in the environmental management system. In particular will covered meaning of indicators (definiton, characteristics, etc.), and will analysed essential in the field of legislation and main monitoring programmes in Estonia.
